You must know how I love it when people chose to follow their hearts and chase their dreams. Though life may not allow us to do so whenever we want to, some people really make it happen anyway.
That's what I love about Audi Star Creation. To me, it has become one of Asia's best fashion design competition. Every year, ASC brings together a good group of designers from the region and this year, it has attracted 355 entries, which was a hundred more than last year's! For the first time, Mongolia has taken part and their participant has made it to the finals with 11 others who are from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam!
Representing Singapore are Haziq Putra and Feliz Nai! Haziq started his journey in fashion when he opted to study Apparel Design and Merchandising at Temasek Polytechnic even though his parents' hoped for him to study aviation. The final year student at TP hopes to use ASC as a way for him to gauge his ability as a designer and see where he stands against other designers in Asia.
Felix, who has graduated from the same course as Haziq, hopes to reach to people with his collection, that they will not just see it but understand the concept behind it. With the basic knowledge of garment construction school has taught him, it has given him more confidence to produce practical designs you'd see on the runway coming May 13.
