And yet again, I have discovered another print designer. Yes, there's probably no end to it but seeing simple prints on plain paper or fabrics seems very therapeutic for me. Perhaps it is my dream to get out of the city where life is about working and money and just live like a bird. One day at a time, make, create and breathe.
Anyway, today's print artist is Leah Duncan. At one glance, you'd find her work to be very 'Kikki. K' or 'Urban Outfitters'. In fact, she has collaborated with them for some artwork (below) that can be purchased in their stores.
Once a graphic designer for advertising firms, Leah left her job to do what she liked. She taught herself how to sew and make prints and three years later, she found herself collaborating with international brands.
Her prints are often inspired by her Native American roots and thus, they have elements of folk art from deers to tribal prints. I am inspired by her unpretentious and honest art. There is a purity in the hand-drawn prints that I adore.
Leah's prints have been done on anything; from tea towels to cards, iPhone cases to t-shirts. She also has 2013 calendars for your walls!
Leah Duncan's prints and apparel can be purchased on shop.leahduncan.com. She offers international shipping so, hurray!
