So this week was a pretty big one for me. I left last weekend for Singapore, back to home for the first time since I moved. It was a tad too soon but the graduation dates determine when you go back, not the other way round ;)
The moment when you get your cert is a pretty fast and the whole ceremony is pretty boring. Thank God there was only one speech, excluding the one by the valedictorian (who was a double one this year!). We spent more than half of the two-hour ceremony hearing everyone's names. I would have laughed so hard at the attire the school administration was wearing on stage but I didn't want to jeopardize my chance at getting my cert. It looked like they were wearing a huge naan on their head!
After the valedictorian spoke, the ceremony was declared over and there came the balloon drop. This scene was the trending picture for this week on instagram. It always looks so good on picture but there was a loooooooong pause before the emcee announced that it was the end and they decided, hey, it's time to pull the strings! Funny that they needed to reset the balloons too after every ceremony.
Right after that, it hits you that you have officially graduated. You start running around spamming photos with your friends in the heavy and hot gown.
I was on a constant high, being so happy to meet all my friends again! I couldn't stop squealing in happiness to see some faces I haven't seen in a long time. The business school organised a commencement dinner for us which was so memorable thanks to the free booze (and hence drunk friends doing stupid things), one of the muttons as the emcee, Jack and Rai performing and free photo print outs!
Now that we've all graduated, we are all aaaaadults who need to work! Hehe, I still have three to four more years before I need to get into that too. I guess you can never run away from work hoho. I'm really going to miss my university friends :( Uni is the time when you're an adult, you can study and still have time to play. For me, I didn't have much time playing in school because it was wayyyy too stressful so we spent most of it in the library. Nonetheless, we would remember those mornings where we walked in with tea in our hands ready to tackle the books and the late night suppers after mugging.
You only live once.
