Set against the landscape of space, local label Coupe-cousu infuses extraterrestrial elements into the gentleman's wardrobe. Inspired by cosmonauts and space riders, their spring summer 2013 collection features bold texts, buckles and fastenings of cosmonauts and stardust patterns.
At a glance, the wools and cottons in colours of navy, ultramarine and cobalt contrasted with the bright red and rich gold excites me. But then, there is a robotic stiffness to the collection that makes me feel uneasy. Shirts are pretty fitting and are tucked into pants like soldiers ready for combat. Thankfully, upon physical examination of the clothes, I found them very wearable. The gold pants which can look very confining to movement is actually gold foil printed on pants, so the pants is still soft!
Some of my favourites include the 'Space Man' shirts, the stardust patterns (pictures not available) and the gold cuffed pants.
In a nutshell, this collection is like a modern wardrobe for Astro Boy. With their eyes set on their upcoming show in Seoul Fashion Week, it is no wonder that the designer duo delved into the manga culture in Asia. How cute is that?
Coupe-cousu is stocked in TANGS orchard, W.E Workshop Element and in Japan too!

Some very cool designs there. Love it!
