This year, Audi Fashion Festival will be taking held from 15 May to 19 May at a whole new location! Celebrating its fifth year, the tent has moved from Ngee Ann City to Marina Promenade, just at the corner of Singapore Flyer! I'm excited to see how this tent will look, especially after hearing that it will be larger and that it will have the iconic Singapore skyline as a backdrop!
Ohh, and I cannot forget that Blueprint Trade Show and Emporium will be happening at The Pit Building just steps away so guests can attend both events one after another without having to shuttle back and forth and miss shows!
Anyway, upon hearing the list of international designers who will be coming down for AFF this year, I couldn't help but feel so excited! I am looking forward to seeing the shows by the following four international designers:
The House of Herrera will be opening AFF this year on the 15th of May with looks from Carolina Herrera New York and CH Carolina Herrera. Designers Mrs. Herrera and Carolina Herrera de Baez will be present at the shows. CH Carolina Herrera just opened her first boutique in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands. Opening the show this year would definitely bring good publicity and awareness to the American designers and their brand.
Then there's Tsumori Chisato who will be showing on the 17th of May. I've always adored her prints and use of bold and vibrant colours in her collections. This May, she will be showing her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection inspired by the marine life.
Cutting edge London designers Christopher de Vos and Peter Pilotto will be showing Peter Pilotto's Autumn/Winter 2013 collection on 18th May. The London design scene has been so vibrant in the recent years, and is probably now known for producing designers with fresh perspectives on wearable clothes. Peter Pilotto has been one of those designers who has successfully crafted collections that have wowed editors and journalists season after season. I'm probably the most excited about this one!
Closing the festival will be legendary British-Turkish designer, Hussein Chalayan with his brand, Chalayan. You cannot ever not know Chalayan. He became famous for beautifully mixing his love for architecture and fashion together. Though they were not all wearable, he had the same frequency of creativity when compared to the late Alexander McQueen. His collections were always out-of-the-box and impactful. They were never fluff but strong in concept and presentation. Chalayan will be gracing the event with his presence so I'm looking forward to seeing him!
