Hong Kong: Stanley Market

Today, mom & I took a bus to Stanley Market. People told me that it's a touristy place and it did end up like that! In fact, it felt like Chinatown. But there's something about seaside towns that always makes me weak in my knees.

Something funny did happen to us though! While on the bus, we saw Stanley Plaza and thought we were there. So we alighted and then doubt started to sink into our minds. We walked down a few levels and then we felt that we were at a shopping mall. So we went back up and hailed a cab which took us round the bend and down to Stanley Market. Turns out, Stanley Plaza was part of the whole Stanley village! If we had gone down a few floors more, we would have stumbled upon Stanley Market. Wayyyy too funny :)

Anyway, the place is still a nice place to let your hair down. There wasn't much to buy. We stopped for lunch at The Boathouse which served us great black mussels, fish & chips and grilled chicken! I recommend the place, even though the prices are a bit steep. Tourist place indeed!

Probably heading to Tsim Sha Shui tomorrow :)

You can take buses 6, 6X and more from the Bus Terminus at Hong Kong Station.
