Local label: Mash-up

My dear readers, it seems that you like a lot of personal advice. Well, let's try educating you on the fashion scene in Singapore?

One of my favourite labels in Singapore is Mash-Up. For a young label, they have a very unique design sense which stands out from the others. Housed in Parco Next Next at Millenia Walk, the label has had their looks shown at our local Audi Fashion Week! Yes, I very much agree that Millenia Walk is so out of the way. I walked there from Raffles City this afternoon and was wishing I could just pull the building towards me. Perhaps I just needed faith like a mustard seed to move this building.

Anyway, the label is known for their quirky streetwear. For Fall Winter 2012, "Atlanta Goes to Atlantis" revolves around the Atlanta basketball team finding themselves in the mythical city of Atlantis. (I wonder if they met Little Mermaid there)

My personal favourite is the shark shirtdress below with the polka dotted sleeves! It embodies the fun that Mash-Up always puts into their collection, mixed with tonnes of colour and patterns.  

Mash-Up may not be your cup of tea but I do like how it's found its brand DNA. I'm also very impressed by their lookbook which was shot in Melbourne! Don't you think it looks very professional?

Well, if you're free this Saturday, they're going to be having some DIY classes at Lomography Singapore located next to Maxwell market in Chinatown. There'd be a "Fashion Blue hour" party at 7pm too so come down and join the fun! I'll be there in my new Mash-Up dress from their previous collection shooting well-dressed people with La Sardinas! 

The designers of Mash-Up, AMEN, The Cult of Nine, Steve Lawle and Nathalie Thery (the photographer for this collection above) will also be at the party. We'd be picking 3 fashionistas from the crowd to grace the covers of their lookbooks so come down for your chance to be a fashion star!
