Asia Fashion News #2: Gianvito Rossi, Brioni, McQ Alexander McQueen and more

New this week includes the first Brioni store in Singapore, the McQ pop up store at Club21b and Gianvito Rossi in South East Asia.







Mulberry introduces two new bags
Mulberry adds two need bags to their collection for Autumn Winter 2013. The iconic Bayswater is now developed into a new style, the Bayswater Shoulder, as part of the Autumn Winter 2013 Main Collection. The compact shape features a long shoulder strap and secure flap closure. Signature postman’s lock hardware has been updated in a smaller size, holding layered strap detailing in place. Alongside the new Shoulder style, the Bayswater Double Zip Tote is also added to the collection. Classic leatherwork and hardware is based on the original Bayswater, but with an optimised zipped internal compartment layout.


For the men, the Mulberry Matthew collection includes four new styles, optimised for all occasions. This new sleek, contemporary group includes the Document Case, Tote, Holdall and ’24 Hour Bag’. Each features removable luggage tags for travel cards, hidden pockets for technology accessories and internal compartments suited to a variety of uses.

Club Monaco launches Singapore campaign
This August, the brand will be debuting its menswear collection here as well as shifting to a bigger premise in Ngee Ann City. In unison, it will be launching its first ever tastemaker-driven short film campaign, where four local individuals have been selected to each represent a lifestyle pillar of the brand- these being fashion, art, travel, food and music. They will each create a short film using Lomography's first ever analog video camera, the Lomokino, based on their personal sources of inspiration. 

These films will be launched on Club Monaco's Singapore tab on their Facebook page starting from 5th August, every week for 4 weeks thereafter.

#CMGetInspired Photo Competition
In addition to the videos, Club Monaco will be launching the #CMGetInspired photo competition. Starting from 2nd September, fans simply have to upload pictures that reflect the brand's five lifestyle pillars over a span of 4 weeks. The competition will be held on Club Monaco's Facebook page, with prizes handed out each week to the best contribution and a grand prize of a $1,000 shopping spree up for grabs for one winner!


Alexander Wang Objects now available in Singapore
The Alexander Wang Objects collection is now available at our store at Hilton Hotel. Alexander Wang returns with several additions infused with clean and predominantly tonal pieces. Expect a set of coasters, a sleek gold bottle opener, a deck of playing cards and even a jump rope.

New Giorgio Armani boutique in BELLAVITA, Taipei
Giorgio Armani opened its new Giorgio Armani boutique in BELLAVITA, Taipei on July 31st, 2013. A cocktail party was held in the new boutique to celebrate its launch, marking the brand’s latest retail location in the area, attended by renowned celebrities Barbie Hsu, Joseph Chang, Ting Ting Hu and top model Vivian Dawson. 


The new Giorgio Armani boutique covers over 290 square metres and will present both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, including shoes, handbags and other small goods. The design of the boutique blends craftsmanship and modernity to complement Giorgio Armani’s ready-to-wear and accessory collections for women and men.

Gianvito Rossi: Set to make an Understated Statement in South East Asia
 Femininity, modernity and elegance are three words that perfectly conjure Italian craftsman Gianvito Rossi. The master of paired-back perfection is bringing his luxurious Autumn/Winter 2013 creations all the way via Santo Spirito in Milan to South East Asia, with private customer appointments at On Pedder in Singapore and Jakarta on the 28th and 30th of August.

BRIONI TO OPEN ITS LUXURIOUS BOUTIQUE IN SINGAPORE, ITS LARGEST IN SOUTHEAST ASIA

Singapore will be finally having its very first Brioni standalone boutique in Singapore, the largest in Southeast Asia which will be unveiled on 12 September.

The new Brioni store will occupy a retail space of 1800 square feet at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, making it the largest in the region. The Uomo Group currently operates Uomo CollezioniStefano RicciZilli and Santoni at The Shoppes.

Brioni has dressed the likes of Clark Gable, Nelson Mandela, and Luciano Pavarotti.  Other personalities who have chosen Brioni include Al Pacino.  The label, founded in 1945, is today a representation of the finest workmanship – clinging onto to the age-old skills of the very best best master tailors.

The design concept is first in the world and has been created solely in Via Gesu Milan. This exclusive store concept will be replicated in Brioni boutiques around the world after the launch in Singapore.

The first collection to be brought in the store will be Brioni’s full Autumn Winter 2013/2014 collection, a first by Brendan Mullane, Brioni’s new Creative Director, who was previously Givenchy’s head designer for menswear.
