Military meets punk. A soldier in rebellion.
These are the phrases that best describe the Amen Spring Summer 2013 collection. Honestly, this collection was a pleasant surprise for me for a few reasons. Firstly, when you look at them, you can see Nicole Wong, one of the designers in them. And that is a good thing, because you can feel the young label finding their distinctive look already.
For me, the reinterpreted pants-suit look with the camo-print jacket layered with chunks of chained necklaces captured the rebel chick/chic flawlessly. Camo prints is going to be the next thing trending so I adore the way the designer duo integrated the military rebel into city living and dressing.
Frankie Black Dress ($160)
One of my favourites (I have many from this collection) is the black Frankie dress. The cut is simple, girly but when matched with booties and some chunky chains, wow, the girl is soooo cool.
Belafonte ($185)
Something that delighted me was the attention to detail, or little tiny details like linings, or accessories. The collection may look rather serious but once you look inside the clothes, you find funky polka dots looking straight back at you. You really can't help but smile!
Frank ($185)
I'm not sure if the accessories are up for sale, but if they are, I'd love to get the cuff made out of bullets!
