All black Wednesday

You must know how much I dislike black as a colour. It has been overused as a 'safe' colour to the point it's just boring. But while looking through the On Pedder's collection of shoes and accessories for spring & summer, I couldn't help but notice how important black is. In fact, monochrome (black and white) has become the colour palette for spring :'(

However, blacks do have some great effects. They help to emphasize some bright colours like gold and in turn, create some 'classic' looks (like above).

Then, black can help you achieve a tribal look for the night. Because of the dark hue, it helps tone down an otherwise outrageous design if done in another colours. My favourite is the Giuseppe Zanotti strappy heels with beading. They look so sleek and feels like it could fit like a second skin!

And there's the popular Alexander Wang strapped boots. Elastic straps can come across as quite S&M but when done in thick sizes and as knee length boots, suddenly this pair is a like a power boot!

And lastly, there are blacks for casual days when you want to go shopping and walk for miles. Of course, you can see that these aren't your normal boring black pumps but instead, something that is worth shouting about and is still comfortable! (oh yes, flatforms are still around!)
