Prive Grill at Keppel Bay

Yesterday, my family and I went back to Prive Grill at Keppel Bay for dinner again. I really do love this place because of how secluded it is. Tucked in a little corner of Keppel Bay, the sea view, bridge and marina makes you feel like you walked into an alternate universe.

The first time we went there, we ordered a kilogram of beef because Prive apparently is one of the only restaurants with a special expensive grill. On top of that, we ate scallops, pasta and all but the kurobata pork stole the show. Oh, and the truffle mash too!

(If you love truffle, this is the place to go. Fries come with mayo and truffle sauce, mash with truffle... pretty much a lot of things there do!)

Citrus Hokkaido Scallops Carpaccio (means it's raw!!)
I don't like raw food like sashimi (*GASP*) but this raw scallop was enjoyable!

Australia grain-fed "Rangers Valley" Angus Porterhouse 1kg

Sakura Ebi Capellini

Seared scallop

The meat of the night- the "Snake river" Kurobata pork.

For dessert, out of the three that we ordered, none of them won. The three taste chocolate was really good though!

Strawberry trifle

Baked sticky date & pear pudding

Three taste chocolate

I would recommend Prive for a romantic night out. It's a beautiful place with the sea just a walk away. When we went two Saturdays ago, the restaurant was pretty empty but it was all packed when we went again yesterday. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, do sit inside. We sat outside on both occasions and was bothered by the choice of music yesterday.

You see, the funny thing is Prive Grill is next to the bar and the cafe. So they prefer to play the same type of music for all three dining areas. But you know, clubbing music really doesn't fit high-end dining, even on a Saturday night. We asked the waitress to change the music once and they decided to just unplug our speaker. But later on when Hotel California was playing, they plugged our speaker back on and we were subjected to clubbing music thereafter. Luckily we were about to leave.

Service can be slow, especially when you're waiting for your food to come. The longest wait is between your starter to your main but as long as the food is good, I'm not complaining!

You can preview Prive's menu & prices here.

PS: All pictures were taken using iPhone 5! The low lighting made some pictures really dark and grainy but despite that, it really performed well in low lighting! I love it too much <3
