Thakoon caught my eye with his light, airy and youthful collection which he presented for New York Fashion Week under Thakoon Addition. He brought fresh perspective to laid-back clothing and for me, revitalized cotton jersey.
Often used in clothings, cotton jersey was once a novelty. Only used in tee-shirts a few years back, the fabric started to become the staple for many designers. They started to use it for all types of clothing, from skirts to pants, dresses to tops. May I also mention that cotton jersey is probably the favourite fabric of most Singaporean designers?
With the use of vibrant colours, lines and prints, Thakoon has put together a collection that is wearable and youthful looking for spring. The simple styling, bright and spacious backgrounds and the use of a young fresh face immediately reminded me of Topshop's campaigns. There was just nothing that you could not love about this collection.
I'm officially a Thakoon fan.
