For Spring Summer 2013, Mary Katrantzou turned towards ordinary objects found in our daily lives. Inspired by stamps and money, the queen of digital prints once again produced a collection full of interesting cuts and prints.
The first half of the show saw stamps being manipulated onto frocks. I don't know if the prints were taken from actual stamps but it sure gave the collection a worldwide appeal. Somewhat nostalgic, it was nice to see these stamps getting some limelight in the wake of the decline in regular mail service.
I particularly liked the huge pleated dress above. It looks perfect for a summer though it may not be very light!
Prints resembling those from notes appeared in the second half of the collection. These tiny details that we often fail to notice on our notes were blown up and printed on metallic silks and satins.
The amount of detailing on these dresses are amazing. Just from this picture above, it seems like every piece was beaded. I'm not very sure if that was really the case though!

In all, Mary Katrantzou's collection was a stunner. It had beautiful shapes and details although it may not be the collection of the season for me!
