So, the woman from 1930s came back and appeared on the Burberry Prorsum catwalk with an updated wardrobe. For this season, Christopher Bailey brought back 'The Woman' onto the Burberry Prorsum catwalk. Looks were simple, dainty, feminine and full of colour. 
Metallics was a key fabric for Burberry this season. For both the menswear and womenswear shows, Creative Director Christopher Bailey sent models out in metallic bomber jackets and in this case, tight body hugging dresses. The colours though were much lighter and less saturated than those in the menswear show.
Besides metallics, Bailey also relied heavily on jewel tones for colour blocking. From purples to blues, Bailey did some really beautiful matching of colours and even stayed away from the Burberry checks in his whole collection!
Many people on twitterverse were impressed by the nude dresses that were cut tight to the body and draped with volumious capes. I do have to say though that you'd probably need a darn good body for this!
I felt that this collection has been the best in bringing back "The Woman" for this season. The looks were modern yet sexy and done in a tasteful manner. For me, I found them extremely appealing even for daily wear! I was a bit distracted by the shiny yellow pumps though, especially when they were matched with nudes or greens.
And the personal favourite from the show? The nude lace trench seen below. Tight at the waist, the nude lace with the scalloped edges was amazing on so many levels.
And special mention goes to the (what I call) Doctor bag which every model carried. Big, sturdy and transparent, this bag is going to be one of the IT bags for Spring.
Having seen every look in the collection, I couldn't imagine a perfect finale for Burberry. Previously they had models walk down in snow or leaves falling from the ceiling. But of course, Bailey had a plan. He sent an army of models down the runway in metallic trench coats and a transparent doctor bag in hand. And the colours of the trench coat slowly started to change across the spectrum from red to pink to purple then so on. Could the metallic trench be the new Burberry trench? Has Burberry moved on from the checks to being 'brandless'?
